Anti-river text justification

"6 Surprising Bad Practices That Hurt Dyslexic Users" mentions the problem of rivers of whitespace for dyslexic users. Although left-justification diminishes the effect, it does not eliminate it. An exciting experiment to try would be to see whether an algorithm that deliberately avoids rivers (e.g. by never placing two pieces of whitespace in adjacent locations) could actually be more comfortable for dyslexic users than any standard technique.
