Runner 2.0 now available! New features
Runner is a launching utility for Windows 95 and up.
Runner is based on a simple "keyword" concept. Each program has a short keyword, like "IE" for Internet Explorer. To run it, you simply type the first few letters of the keyword and press ENTER. You don't even have to type out the whole thing, just enough to disambiguate it.
I created Runner because I find this method of running apps much faster. I hope others may also find it more convenient.

It's easy to add any number of items to the list, (now even easier with the drag-and-drop features of Runner 2.0) and you can include an optional description (recommended) to remind you what keywords mean and give you any important information.
You can manually add an entry, providing the same information you would when creating a shortcut in Windows, or you can simply drag any existing file or shortcut onto Runner, and it will create a new entry linking to the proper file, leaving you to just enter the keyword.
It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's worth a try - it's free
and it's small (thanks to Pik for
telling me about UPX so I
could make it even smaller). Click the link below to download Runner.
